Valentine's Day 2016

Valentine's Day 2016

Valentine’s Day is our favourite day of the year to celebrate and honour love in all forms!   In the 1840’s and 50’s, Graham’s Magazine was a monthly periodical, published out of Philadelphia, (that once saw Edgar Allan Poe as it’s editor), which often described romantic scenes from daily life, through engravings.  Here are just a handful of the testaments of love depicted within the publication.  Happy Valentine’s Day to you and yours!

The following come from Graham’s Magazine, between the years 1842 and 1858 and have been engraved by various artists.
